Writing a book review is one of the hardest type of reviews to write on Amazon. Everyone shares different opinions and views. However, I was contacted by one of my fellow Amazonian's to review this book and that's what I'm going to do for you. The Moorehead Manor book starts off fast-paced; you have three teenagers who stumbled upon a Haunted house. It picks up from there however, as the story goes on it seems to fall short of something. First the pros I loved the imagery in this book when the author describes the mansion, the different floors, and the majority of the characters I could visualize it in my mind. The writing is great with few grammatical errors (which was a plus in my book ). The cons that I have regarding this book would first and foremost be the development of the characters that we really did not read too much about. Let me make this painfully clear: I understand what times were like back in the 1920s . However, if you are going to use those disgusting racial terms to describe a character at least have the decency to give us more information instead of just "The Gardner's son". The Gardner's son should have been a main character – we should have heard about because if it were not for him there would not have been a story involving Cecil, Alice, nor the mother. Instead of waiting until the second story to possibly tell us more about this character just drags the novel on and on. Another issue is the fact that you can't have a Chief of Police son do something to a mansion and think that no one is going to find out it's unreal. Especially in a small Sleepytown as the one that was described in the story. The realism in the story just cannot cut it for me and I cannot find myself getting involved in this book without a few headaches. However, if it wasn't for those issues this book was enjoyable. The imagery was spot on, some of the characters were well-developed, and for a first crack at a novel it was a good shot. I'm in the process of reading the second story now. I do not want to create any spoilers in this review for my fellow Amazonian's. I do recommend this book if you're interested in a short story regarding three teenagers stumbling upon a Haunted house . I appreciate you for taking time out to read my book review. Although we may not agree on all of the points of this story, I love reading your reviews and learning from them as well. I hope you found it informative.

Moorehead Manor The Moorehead Manor Series Book 1 eBook David McMullenSullivan Reviews

This story is really enjoyable for anyone who likes light horror and ghost stories. I loved how it moved my empathy and fear at the same time.
Once I started reading, I could not stop until the end. It is an amazing story with suspense on every page. I believe all three characters grew up a great deal that day!
I am intrigued by the Supernatural & Ghosts - having grown up in a Haunted House myself it takes quite a lot to put me on edge OR impress me when it comes to books or movies - The Moorehead Manor however succeeded in doing both - impressing me, having my heart race & keeping me jumpy on the edge of my seat. Well thought out and put together. Everything falls together nicely leaving no questions or gray areas. After I read it I had to read it to my mother, 73 years old, and she verbalized enjoying it as well. I highly recommend this story, you won't be disappointed! Kudos to the Author David McMullen-Sullivan for a work well done!
I'm giving this 🌟🌟🌟 because there was one mistake and for me it is a big one. If you are not from Louisiana you may not even notice this. One of the characters talks about the county they live in. Louisiana doesn't have counties, it has parishes. It is only in the story once. Other than that, great read.
This story started slow and picked up momentum all the way to the end. The description of the surroundings were so good I could visualize it in my minds eye. I enjoyed the surprise ending. A very good read.
Somewhere between 2.5 Stars and 3 Stars

This was an enjoyable read, but I did find it lacking in spots. The first few pages read like something you would expect from a high school writing project. Overall there was more telling then showing. There were parts of dialog I didn't find believable. Face it, your average teenage boy is not going to use the word "Gosh", even in the 70s. 56s maybe.. However, even with these shortcoming, this was very creepy. While the characters could have been better developed, they were still very likable. I absolutely loved Alice. I really wish she had been the focal point of the story. The author did do an excellent job with the Manor setting. Seriously, it was creepy as hell. I don't think I'd recommend this to anyone, but I would certainly recommend keeping an eye out for future titles by this author. I do see a lot of potential in his writing.
I love a good ghost story with how this story played out. I imagine that is the way in my head ghosts may try to tell their story. I read this book 4 years ago and forgot to add my review while everything was fresh but this is a book you can never forget. As spooky as this book was, I really enjoyed how the story played out what happened in front of the kids. This is not a story for the light hearted because I got creeped out but I kept reading and found myself really enjoying this book. I recommend this book to those who like creepy ghost reads!
